About The Position
As the Regional Director for PRN’s Charlotte area, you’ll drive the strategic direction of PRN’s programs, cultivate partnerships, and oversee program implementation in the region. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, you will ensure that PRN’s mission and values are embodied across all programs and initiatives. You’ll lead and inspire a dedicated team, foster collaboration with key stakeholders, and represent PRN with integrity and passion in the communities we serve.
This role requires a strong leader who can effectively manage resources, build partnerships, and create a positive, solution-focused work environment.

FLSA Status: Exempt
Travel: Up to 50% within the region

What You’ll Do
Strategic Vision and Leadership
- Lead the development and execution of strategic plans within the Charlotte region, aligning goals with PRN’s overall mission and vision.
- Provide inspirational leadership to regional staff, fostering a culture that promotes recovery, resilience, and innovation.
- Support PRN’s sustainability plan by identifying opportunities for growth, partnerships, and initiatives that support the peer and recovery movement.
- Assess trends, gaps, and needs within the region and propose innovative solutions to advance PRN’s impact.
Programmatic Infrastructure and Operations
- Oversee the implementation and evaluation of regional programs to ensure they align with PRN’s objectives and deliver effective services.
- Work closely with program directors to develop action plans and establish operating procedures, policies, and forms.
- Ensure efficient management of resources, including financial oversight, program reporting, and data tracking to meet contract requirements.
- Maintain PRN’s properties in the region, ensuring facilities are in good repair and offer a welcoming environment.
Financial Management and Resource Mobilization
- Oversee the regional budget, ensuring responsible stewardship of financial resources and adherence to budgetary guidelines.
- Lead efforts to secure funding for regional programs through grant writing, donor cultivation, and fundraising.
Partnership Development
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with community organizations, government agencies, and donors to advance PRN’s mission in the region.
- Serve as the primary representative of PRN in the Charlotte area, advocating for the organization’s mission and values and establishing PRN’s presence at local forums, committees, and meetings.
Team Management and Development
- Provide leadership and mentorship to regional staff, fostering a positive, collaborative work environment.
- Conduct bi-weekly supervision meetings with program managers, providing guidance and support for day-to-day program operations.
- Onboard and train new program managers, supporting their professional growth and skill development.
- Maintain a positive work culture that emphasizes recovery-oriented leadership traits such as patience, tolerance, equity, and mutual respect.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in program management, preferably within the nonprofit or human services sector, with demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.
- NC Certified Peer Support Specialist certification is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of nonprofit program operations, strategic planning, and workforce development.
- Proven experience in project management, including planning, problem-solving, and evaluating outcomes.
- Strong understanding of recovery principles, harm reduction, and human rights advocacy for individuals with mental health and substance abuse challenges.
- Financial management skills with experience overseeing budgets and fundraising initiatives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative, solution-focused approach.
- Lived experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery, committed to PRN’s mission and values.
- Proficiency in computer software applications (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and maintain a positive work culture that reflects PRN’s core values.
