SMART Recovery is a science-based recovery group that empowers individuals to overcome addictive behaviors through self-directed change. Using tools grounded in cognitive-behavioral therapy, participants build motivation, manage urges, develop healthy coping strategies, and create balanced lives—one SMART step at a time. In this class you can follow along with a guided painting or other art lesson and learn that everyone can create with time. Experiment with new art ideas together and grow confidence and passion in your creativity while discussing how art can bring you closer to your thoughts and emotions. Join us in reading and discussing “Who Ordered This Truckload of Dung”, by Ajahn Brahm. Engage in a thoughtful conversation about how this book can be applied to our daily recovery. Using a deck of cards based on the 4 Agreements, spend this class time discussing these principles for living a life of happiness and freedom. Learn how to navigate difficult and strong emotions like anger, fear, and anxiety without shame or stigma. This class focuses on coping skills to help us understand our emotions and use their power in our wellness journeys. Expression Connection is a recovery-focused class that uses creative expression—like writing, art, music, and movement—as tools for healing, self-discovery, and connection.
