Harm Reduction

Harm Reduction is the belief that every person is valued. At PRN, we live our commitment to one another by offering welcoming, judgment-free spaces to ask questions openly, explore options, access safer-use supplies, and receive information and unconditional support from others with shared experience (i.e. peer support).

What is the Harm Reduction Program?

Peer-led support that offers safety, dignity, and connection through compassionate harm reduction practices.

The Harm Reduction program offers supplies, information, and peer support that promote safety and empowerment. We provide materials that help you stay safer, along with space for honest conversations about wellness, substance use, and personal goals. Our approach recognizes that people are experts in their own lives and deserve support that honors their dignity, choices, and lived experience.

Connect with us for testing strips, Naloxone (Narcan), first aid and safer sex supplies, overdose prevention and reversal training, and on-one-one peer support. No explanations needed, no conditions…just humanity and dignity.

What support does the Harm Reduction Program offer?

We offer safer use supplies, fentanyl test strips, Narcan, and education focused on preventing overdose and staying safe. People can also talk with peers who understand harm reduction through experience and can offer grounding conversations, support, and guidance when requested. Supplies and peer support are available during PRN operating hours, and Narcan is accessible at any time through our Narcan Mailbox. Everything we offer is free, confidential, and rooted in compassion.

Who does the Harm Reduction Program support?

Our Harm Reduction program supports anyone who wants safer use supplies, wellness information, or a supportive peer to talk with. We welcome people at any stage of their journey, including those who are reducing use, actively using, in recovery, or exploring next steps. Everyone who comes to us is met with respect, understanding, and encouragement without pressure or judgment.

What are the core values of the Harm Reduction Program?

Our harm reduction philosophy is grounded in dignity, autonomy, compassion, and connection. We believe you deserve safety, respect, and access to supplies and information that help you stay alive and well. We value honesty, trust, and relationship-building, and we honor each person’s knowledge of their own body, needs, and choices. Everything we provide is rooted in peer support and a commitment to meeting you exactly where you are.

What makes the Harm Reduction Program different?

Our Harm Reduction program is rooted in lived experience, compassion, and the belief that everyone deserves safety and respect. Our environment is welcoming, accessible, and grounded in real connection. We focus on dignity, choice, and the understanding that people thrive when they are supported, not pressured.
