What is Peer Academy?

A community-based learning experience that prepares future peer supporters to lead with authenticity, empathy, and the core values of the peer movement.

Peer Academy is a community-based training program for those seeking to explore peer support, build practical skills, and understand the philosophy of the peer movement. We blend interactive learning, storytelling, and real-world practice to help participants grow in confidence and clarity. Our supportive space helps people develop the tools needed to walk alongside others with empathy, curiosity, and respect.
What We Offer

What support does Peer Academy offer?

Peer Academy provides a fifty-hour core training along with electives that allow participants to explore specific areas of interest. Our curriculum introduces foundational peer support values, communication skills, cultural humility, trauma awareness, and wellness practices. Through group discussions, experiential activities, and guided reflection, participants gain confidence in supporting others while maintaining healthy boundaries and honoring shared experience. We also offer connection to ongoing learning opportunities within PRN’s broader peer network.
